The "Tuesday" was probably just a typo by ANet. Why would it go until Tuesday anyway when the actual holiday was Saturday? It's been longer than usual since a typo in the in-game announcements too.

That would be a rather strange typo. Also, since the new login announcement goes up several days before an event, ANet had plenty of time to issue a correction or at least post a clarification on the forums, which they've done in the past following screwups in the event announcement. People did remark on this extended period in the forums, and ANet does read them. Since they made no correction or comment, I can't help thinking that this was not a typo and they truly intended the event to last through Tuesday.

Meh. I planned on farming some more today, but oh well. Not a big deal.
Think positive - Nicholas is always bugged somehow, maybe they'll sneak them back in whenever they inevitably have to fix him.
EDIT: I guess Nick isn't bugged this week. Time to start thinking negatively.

Seems reasonable to make it last till Tuesday since they didn't announce it last year and a lot of people missed it, so they lengthened it this year. At least that's what I thought when I read it in Announce.

Yeah, I sure hope it's just a glitch they'll fix with an update ASAP and not a typo. But I do remember a weekend a few months ago where an event was advertised to start on Thursday with the new build, but it actually started on Friday afternoon, and ANet said "sorry, that was a typo." Can't remember which event it was. But there was a fair amount of chatter on the forums like "Awesome, it starts a day early," and ANet didn't step in to say anything.

Still no answer of Arena.net ?
They erased the "Pirate Day Event" message of login screen.

If this is true ,good answer........
First ignore the fail of weekend event end ,and after ignore the question of the community about this.
I hope that this will be false and arena.net tell us about the event,

Just spoke with our producer about this. At the moment, we're waiting on design to provide more information about what we'll be doing.
What happened was that the information about Talk Like a Pirate day posted on the login screen was taken from last year's text, but it did not reflect how long the event was programmed to last in the in-game event files, which run automatically. This resulted in the event ending early, according to the in-game message.
We're sorry about the oversight, and as soon as I actually have information to give you, one way or the other, I'll let you all know.
Thanks for your patience.

Thanks Regina.
One thing though, I am pretty sure last year there was no announcment for the Pirate Weekend, so no text.

I'm guessing the typo was due to the fact that they just used the text from last year (Talk like a pirate day was on a Monday last year right?) and didn't bother to update it (like those double faction rewards weekends still saying jadite is 1k).
Kinda a gip since we all pointed this out ahead of time and A.net should have notice it. But not killer.
Edit: Ha, Regina posted while I was typing that this was exactly what happened. I'm good...

Epic Fail! 1st they announce event, great, people are happy because last year many didn't even know about it. Put up announcement, yay, people again are happy, event goes till Tues, that means doing stuff on the weekend still leaves a little time Mon and Tues to get a few Grogs. Next, a few days before event nerf some farming builds, booo, next end event 2 days early.... ha ha ha. Great job folks! I am by no means a programmer of any kind but seriously, if you are running an event, how hard would it be to check the text line that has the times in it before it goes live? "Oh look, message says event goes till Tues, we only have it programmed to go till Sun... oh well, screw it, throw it up." My faith in this team is fading fast
